Camille Cosby calls for investigation into prosecutor

Mrs Cosby compared the dozens of other women who've accused her husband to a "lynch mob" spurred on by the media's "frenzied, relentless demonisation" of the man who earned a reputation as America's Dad playing Dr Cliff Huxtable on the top-rated family sitcom The Cosby Show.

Bill Cosby's wife spoke out for the first time since the comedian was found guilty of sexual assault - taking shots at the media and her husband's accusers, and comparing the case to the infamous lynching of Emmett Till.

A report from E! Cosby's first trial ended last June with a hung jury.

ABC News reported that Camille called her husband's conviction a product of "mob justice", and called it a "tragedy" that her husband of 54 years could spend the rest of his life in jail as a result of the convictions.

While there haven't been any new Bill and Camille Cosby divorce rumors swirling since Bill's conviction, multiple social media users reacted to Camille's statement, opining that instead of standing by Bill, she should divorce him instead.

As for Constand, Camille Cosby wrote: "I firmly believe her recent testimony during trial was perjured".

"This is mob justice, not real justice", said Camille Cosby, who has been married to the disgraced megastar for more than half a century.

Camille Cosby also alleged that Constand had been dishonest during the trial. A former Temple University employee alleges that the entertainer drugged and molested her in 2004 at his home in suburban Philadelphia. Read her full statement below.

As of January, the couple had agreed on a divorce settlement, with Chapman reportedly due to receive about $15 to $20 million, per the terms of the agreement, according to Page Six.

"Twelve honorable people - a jury of Cosby's peers - have spoken", Troiani said. "There is nothing else that needs to be said" the lawyer's office said in a statement to Newsweek.

"That is how she will be remembered", she said. He has said through a spokesman he plans to appeal.

How much longer will we, the majority of the people, tolerate judicial, executive, legislative, media and corporate abuses of power?

She went on to call out the "falsified account" by the district attorney.

She said Steele and his team were "exploitive and corrupt" and that their "primary goal is to advance themselves professionally and economically at the expense of Mr. Cosby's life".

The Marian Anderson Award board announced Thursday they have rescinded Cosby's award that he received in 2010.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele attacked opponent Bruce Castor in campaign ads over his decision not to charge Cosby in 2005 and announced Cosby's arrest a month after winning the November 2015 election.

She described Steele, who declined to respond Thursday, as "unethical".
